Lynne Taylor is an award winning artist and photographer, and a resident of the Northwest for 20 years. As a watercolor artist, she strives to make a statement about the mysteries of the natural world, time and space.Lynne has always been fascinated by the beauty of nature. Born in upstate New York, she studied Biology at the University of Buffalo and in graduate school at Binghamton University. She devoted her imagination and creativity to inspiring her seventh and eighth grade science students, until she married and had her own child. She then took a sabbatical to raise her child and study art. After moving to New England, she had the opportunity to study watercolor with the notable DeWitt Hardy, AWS, and take art classes at the University of New Hampshire. She has continued her studies with many nationally known artists.Transparent watercolor is a special medium that allows reflected light and pigment to be used to create a wonderful depth and clarity of color. It is Lynne’s preferred medium to design her view of the world and its meanings. She strives to make a statement about the mysteries of the natural world and spirituality. Her primary subject matter is spiritually symbolic abstracts, in which she combines the softness of organic life, the grandness of universal space, and mystical symbols from the world’s many religions. Poetry is another of her many talents, and she is presently incorporating her poems into some of her artworks. She also enjoys painting landscapes and florals, particularly roses. A talented photographer, she has recently begun exploring the world of enhanced digital photography.
